Each Spring, WPI recognizes the outstanding contributions and achievements of students who work while attending WPI. Supervisors at WPI may nominate student employees whom they feel warrant particular recognition for their performance on the job. 

  • There is no limit to the number of nominees a supervisor can submit. 
  • All undergraduate and graduate student employees are eligible for consideration.
  • Previous winners will not be eligible for consideration.

Michael O'Connor
M.S. Computer Science '24

Working in the IT department as a Service Desk Specialist II since 2021, Michael, ” is a leader exemplified by taking charge, being a mentor and demonstrating the highest levels of empathy one could expect. His work ethic is a strong motivator for others, usually being the bar, they set themselves to, and his positivity is the standard we all strive for.” – Brian Beckwith, supervisor. Michael completed his graduate degree in Computer Science in May 2024.
