Expert Bio

Professor Konrad recently returned from a Fulbright scholarship in Lviv, Ukraine, where she exchanged offices and homes with a professor at a Ukrainian university. She studies the application of industrial engineering and mathematical knowledge. Her current research focuses on the healthcare industry. Projects include evaluating anti-human trafficking efforts, computationally characterizing episodes of care from health insurance claim records and examining the impact of physician incentives on patient outcomes. She has also worked on projects related to mental health, patient flow and practice guidelines.

Bioengineer.org wrote about a $2 million grant from the National Science Foundation and the Paul G. Allen Family Foundation that Kyumin Lee, associate professor of computer science, and Renata Konrad, associate professor at The Business School, will use to develop technology and data analysis that will deter illegal wildlife trafficking.
