Project-based Learning

Kris Wobbe, director of the Center for Project-Based Learning, has been named a Fulbright Specialist in the area of curriculum development.

The three-year appointment puts Wobbe in an elite group that is recognized internationally for expertise in a range of fields, including archeology, engineering, law, and urban planning. Sponsored by the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the US State Department, the program pairs accomplished academics and professionals with host institutions around the world to share knowledge and build connections.

Fulbright Specialists work on projects that range from two to six weeks, flexibility that makes the program attractive to those who are unable to leave their home institution for a full year, as is required for most Fulbright Scholars.

“I’m excited to have the opportunity to support higher education and share what we’ve learned about project-based learning in other parts of the world,” Wobbe says.
