R. Maxwell Racine is a Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy and Religion in the Department of Humanities & Arts. His research takes an interdisciplinary approach to philosophy, examining the way that stories in life and literature can be sources of understanding. In particular, his work focuses on the benefits and pitfalls of narrative understanding in contexts of structural oppression. He has taught introductory courses in philosophy as well as upper-level electives in ethics and social and political philosophy. Before joining WPI, he earned his Ph.D. in Philosophy at Fordham University.
