Education
BA in English Studies From Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University 2009
MA in Applied Language Studies and Research in Higher Education from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University 2011

Mohammed El Hamzaoui teaches academic writing to native and non-native speakers of English, Arabic as a foreign language to non-native speakers and ISE (Integrated Skills of English) courses to international students. Mohammed adopts an eclectic approach to teaching languages; he uses a communicative and interactive methodology to help students overcome persistent fears related to learning, speaking and writing in foreign languages. Also, as a first-generation college graduate, Mohammed relies on the intellectual and practical obstacles he faced to help students acclimate to different learning environments including the need to develop cross-cultural competencies and awareness of social issues surrounding them and the local community.

Mohammed’s teaching passions include teaching English and Arabic as foreign/second languages, language learning and acquisition, language learning strategies, Media Studies (filmic representations), Cultural Studies (travel narratives, colonial texts & postcolonial literature) and sociolinguistics (the development of anti-languages as forms of anti-societal behavior).
