Expert Bio

Professor Walcott's research is positioned at the intersection of mathematics and biology. He uses a combination of computer simulations and mathematical analysis to look at how physical principles at the molecular scale can solve macroscopic problems in biology, including how a molecule's mechanical properties influence the behavior of a cell, and how single molecule measurements relate to muscle function.
