Abstract:

Cloud technologies are widely used in industry for software development and data science due to their scalability, fault tolerance, and pay-as-you-go pricing models. Teaching students how to properly use cloud resources can give them a more well-rounded understanding of the technology and set them up for success in their future careers. This study investigates the practical, pedagogical, social and ethical implications of teaching cloud technologies in computer science higher education through literature review and thematic analysis of semi-structured interviews of students and professors at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI).
