The Women of WPI is pleased to offer a personal and professional development workshop highlighting burnout prevention and recovery. This workshop is open to all women of the WPI community.

Have you ever been planning to go on vacation only to find yourself more stressed and overwhelmed in the days leading up to it and after your return? Or perhaps you’ve dreamed of changing jobs just to escape a never ending workload, frequent stress and overwhelm? If so, this workshop is for you!

Recognizing Burnout in Yourself and Others is a workshop designed to educate and empower audience members through increased awareness of the signs, symptoms, causes and contributors of burnout, as well as the potential solutions.

Why this topic? Why now?

Burnout, a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress, can happen in our personal lives as well as in our professional lives. Currently at an all time high, burnout negatively impacts our careers, advancement and earning potential, contribution in our communities, relationships, families, and our physical, mental, and emotional health and well-being. Recognizing burnout in yourself and others is an important first step in burnout prevention and recovery.

● Internal and external causes of burnout
● Consequences of burnout
● Burnout prevention and recovery
● How to help themselves and others who are at risk of burnout

PARKING
Preferred parking is in the McGrath Lot, 40 Salem Street, Worcester, MA and parking will be paid for this location only. Hand in your parking ticket upon event check-in.

OPTIONAL LUNCHEON
Join us at 1:00PM at The Mercantile for lunch, paid by individual attendees. Pre-registration is required by November 14 via the event registration form. The Mercantile is a 7-minute walk from the Worcester Public Library or parking is available at The Mercantile garage. located at 2 Mercantile Street, level 3A for restaurant access.
