Title: On graphs determined by their Smith normal form
Abstract: Inspired by Michael's talk last week. We will show how to compute the Smith normal form of certain matrices (adjacency, Laplacian, and distance.) for some families of graphs (for instance, trees!). We will show some similarities and differences in contrast with the spectral problem. Then we will discuss methods to prove that a (sub)family of graphs is determined by their Smith normal form. On the other hand, we will also explore graphs with the same Smith normal form.
