E-Waste Drive!
10:00 am to 2:00 pm
The Office of Sustainability and Green Team are back with another annual E-Waste collection drive on Wednesday, November 6 from 10:00am to 2:00pm on the quad. Please bring your old, broken or unwanted electronics to the event.
We are working with the same vendor from the spring, and TVs are accepted with no reservation or additional cost required! You can drop off anything that has a plug! See this list for commonly accepted items.
Please refer to the attached map for location specifics and traffic flow details if you plan to drive through to drop off your e-waste items. You can walk over or drive up with your items - please follow the traffic patterns by entering the campus at the West and Institute intersection and driving up the hill and around the circle towards the Bartlett Center and Riley Hall.
If you have an unusual item and are wondering if it can be collected, please email green@wpi.edu and we can check for you.
What are the steps to assure data privacy?
ECER has a certified data destruction process that conforms and exceeds legislative requirements and takes pride in tight security from the moment they receive the computers and electronics until the moment they are processed.
To prevent any concern of devices with personal information being taken without the user's knowledge or consent, student helpers and assistants will be prohibited from searching through the electronics for items that might have value in some way. Our volunteers will be diligent this year to prevent items from being taken from the collection containers.
