The WPI Orchestra and Festival Chorus will give a joint performance at Alden Memorial at 3 p.m. tomorrow, February 25.
The concert will feature three of classical music’s most famous composers: Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms. Among the pieces to be performed will be J.S. Bach’s Cantata No. 140 “Wachet auf” for chamber choir and small orchestra; Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony; and Brahms’ “Schicksalslied” for large chorus and orchestra.
The conducting duties will be shared between Douglas Weeks, coordinator of music, and Joshua Rohde, director of choral activities.
Some members of the Festival Chorus were recently awarded a Grammy in the Best New Age Album category for their participation in the recording of "Miho: Journey to the Mountains" by the Paul Winter Consort. The song “Remembering” was recorded on the campus last year.
The concert is free and open to the public.
