The WPI Investment Association Club led by President Josh Kleiman organized a very special day for WPI studentsand faculty by charting a bus and a full day of events for a trip to the NYC Financial District. The trip included the opening bell on the trading floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and the 9/11 Memorial & Museum. It was an eye-opening experience to learn about the inner workings behind the financial systems supporting our global economy! 22 Students and 4 professors, Prof Rob Sarnie from the Business School, Prof Kwamie Dunbar from the Business School, Prof Marcel Blais from Mathematical Science, and Prof Wilson Wong from Computer Science were in attendance for this great educationaltrip.
Special thanks goes to our wonderful hosts for the day, Alec Arakelian and Caroline Kearney from the NYSE, plus Tess Hwang and Felicia Noth from the NY Federal Reserve. They truly made this a very special and memorable event for everyone.
It was such a successful and power packed emotional day that the Investment club and the Business School are planning to partner again in the fall to make this a WPI annual trip for students and faculty.
