On Friday Packard teamed with seniors Emily Newman, Maggie LaRoche and Lea Strangio to place 11th in the distance medley relay (12:06.02).
At the NCAA Men’s Track and Field Championships, Ryan Wittenberg was fourth in his heat of the 800m, and a tenth of a second shy of competing in the final, with a 1:53.23. Graduate student Austin Scott, the only WPI student-athlete to compete in a cross country and a track & field national championship, wrapped up an outstanding career with a 14th-place finish in the mile (4:14.76).
Tyler Marsh made his debut on the national stage on Friday, taking part in the NCAA Division III Wrestling Championships hosted by Baldwin Wallace in Cleveland, Ohio. The sophomore, who finished second at the Northeast Regional hosted by WPI the last weekend in February was one of 18 competitors in the 157-pound weight class.

The Engineers head back with a 9-3 ledger and six-game winning streak. The 12-game trip also featured Nina Murphy Cook’s 200th career hit and outstanding offensive performance by many others including RiAnna May and Marissa Gonzales at the plate and while pitcher Nicole Kuberka accounted for five wins.
Steven D'Agostino struck out six in a complete-game win, his first of the season, as WPI split a baseball doubleheader with St. Joseph's (ME), Saturday in the Engineers Florida finale. The Crimson and Gray (5-5) took the eye-opener 6-3 while the Monks (4-5) claimed the second 5-4. The week saw junior Steven Gallagher notch his 100th career hit and team up with David Larson for 10 home runs (5 each) while Austin Linder (.440) and Matt Howard (.410) each hit over .400.
Weather permitting, this week is your first chance to check out a spring team at home with Baseball taking center stage with home games Tuesday (3:30pm vs. Worcester State), Wednesday (3:30pm vs. Brandeis) and Saturday (Noon doubleheader vs. Mass Maritime).
