Title IX Policy Updates
Department(s):
Division of Talent & InclusionDear WPI Community Members,
I am writing to inform you of two updates around the Title IX policy at WPI.
On March 1, 2018, the Board of Trustees voted to approve a new interim Sexual Misconduct Policy. This policy continues to uphold our community values of respect and inclusion and is applicable to all members of our community. I encourage each of you to read it at: https://www.wpi.edu/offices/title-ix.
You may obtain a written copy of the policy by contacting the Title IX Coordinator, Melissa A. Pierce, at 508-831-6514 or by emailing mapierce@wpi.edu.
In addition, upcoming workshops will help employees identify their responsibilities under Title IX guidelines. All WPI employees are considered “responsible employees” which means they must report any Title IX violations they know about involving students or any employee they supervise. To help employees learn more about their reporting responsibilities, we are hosting several “Responsible Employee Workshops” in the coming months. All employees must attend one of the workshops. Three sessions will be held each week for the remainder of D-Term, and additional workshops will be added this summer and fall. Seating is limited and registration through 25Live is required.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
