Join us this November as we celebrate International Games Month! For over a decade, International Games Month has been bringing people together through the joy of gaming. Started by the American Library Association, this global celebration aims to reconnect communities and libraries, highlighting the educational and social benefits of games of all kinds. Whether you're into board games, video games, or anything in between, there's something for everyone to enjoy!

At Gordon Library, we're excited to participate in this celebration with a fantastic lineup of events and activities designed for everyone, whether you're a seasoned gamer or just looking to try something new.

What’s Happening This Month?

  • Game Jams: Unleash your creativity and join us for our Game Jams sponsored by the Science Fiction Society, where you can design your own game or remix existing ones! No experience necessary—just bring your enthusiasm!
  • Friday Gaming Nights: Gather your friends or come solo to enjoy a variety of board games, card games, and more! Join the Science Fiction Society for a night filled with fun and friendly competition.
  • IndieCade Watch Party: Join us for an IndieCade Festival Awards Ceremony watch party, co-sponsored by Gordon Library and IMGD! Celebrate the creativity of independent game developers, including WPI's award nomination for Memoirscape, while enjoying delicious pizza and engaging with fellow gaming enthusiasts.
  • Mr. Blick Tournament: Test your skills in our Mr. Blick jumping bean game tournament! Qualifying rounds will be held on November 8th and 15th, with finals taking place on November 22nd.
  • Book & Game Collections: Did you know the library has a large collection of board games, video games and books about gaming? Browse the library's extensive collection through our online catalog: WPI Library Search.

Let’s make this November a month of fun, learning, and connection through games. We hope to see you at the library!
