Okanagan Charter Adoption Spotlight – Wellness Days
Department(s):
Marketing CommunicationsOn November 13, 2024, WPI will adopt the Okanagan Charter recognizing essential interconnections between people, place, and planet in elevating community health and well-being for those occupying our campus and its environs, both now and into the future.
The following is part of a series of spotlights written by the people behind the resources, spaces, programs, and groups at WPI that work to improve the well-being of all who call WPI home, both here and abroad.
Built into the academic calendar, Wellness Days are one day in each term where there are no classes, no exams, no due dates, and no meetings. More than just “a day off,” they are days for us to take a step away from academics and focus on taking care of ourselves. Each Wellness Day has a unique theme and a bunch of fun events to bring together the entire WPI community. Check out our website for more information about Wellness Days and see the upcoming dates.
We like to say that Wellness Days are about doing whatever “wellness” means to you. If that means dropping in for chill vibes at sound bathing or stopping by dog therapy for some dog love, we got you. If that means free food like liquid nitrogen ice cream or Acai bowls, we got you. If that means not stepping foot on campus, we got you with free Wellness @ Home kits and live streamed meditation. The CWB is responsible for coordinating the programming for the Wellness Days with student groups and departments. If you are interested in sponsoring or co-sponsoring an activity or event, please fill out the Wellness Day Event Request Form. If we don’t have what wellness means to you, let us know! We’re always looking for feedback on how we can improve Wellness Days to meet the needs of the WPI community.
