How do you interact with the students while at the Albania project center?
Peter Hersh: The amount of interaction we have with the students typically changes in the course of seven weeks. When they are beginning their project, they work primarily with their sponsor, usually 9am–5pm, and we meet with them formally two or three times a week to get a sense of how the project has launched. As the project evolves, we see them more, almost daily, and oftentimes they'll send us an email or text to ask for a meeting to talk about some aspect of their research or other challenges. So the schedule becomes more fluid and on an as-needed basis. It's is very open-ended and helps build the trust that goes into these projects.
