Frequently Asked Questions
I am a Becker student, but I am not enrolled in one of the programs identified in the pathway agreement with WPI. Can I transfer to WPI?
Becker students pursuing degrees other than those identified in the agreement may apply to transfer to WPI through WPI’s standard application process, however they are not guaranteed admission.
I am a Becker student enrolled in one of the programs identified in the pathway agreement with WPI. Can I transfer into a WPI program other than the one listed in the agreement?
Becker students in Interactive Media programs who wish to pursue majors at WPI other than those listed in the agreement may apply to transfer into other WPI programs through WPI’s standard application process, however they are not guaranteed admission.
My current GPA is less than 3.0. Can I transfer to WPI?
Becker undergraduates in Interactive Media with GPA’s lower than 3.0 should contact WPI admissions staff to discuss a pathway for admission to WPI.
Can I tour the WPI campus?
All students offered admission to WPI are welcome to visit. More information on our limited on campus visit options can be found at https://www.wpi.edu/admissions/undergraduate/visit. There are also numerous ways to visit campus virtually through our virtual tour or a "live" virtual visit.
Is there a fee to apply to WPI?
It is free to apply to WPI!
What is the deadline to apply WPI?
The application deadline for Becker students who are enrolled in the Becker-WPI Pathway Programs is June 1, 2021.
What is the deadline to enroll?
The enrollment deadline for the Becker-WPI Pathway Program is June 30, 2021. Students may defer their enrollment to Fall 2022.
What documentation do I need to submit with my application?
You will need to submit the Becker-WPI Pathway Application, which will be available April 15, 2021. WPI will coordinate with Becker College to receive two additional required documents: Your official Becker College transcript, and the WPI Conduct Records Release Report Form.
How many of my course credits will transfer?
All courses completed at Becker with a passing grade will be applied to the appropriate distribution requirements at WPI. In some cases, courses completed at Becker may count toward free electives at WPI.
How do I transfer college course credits from schools other than Becker?
Information about WPI’s transfer credit review policy can be found at www.wpi.edu/+transfercredit. Once admitted to the Becker-WPI Pathway Program, transferring students should follow the outlined steps to request that any non-Becker College courses be reviewed for potential credit.
Can I receive credit for AP or IB credits I earned in high school?
WPI awards credit for AP exam scores of 4 or 5. To receive AP credit, a student must contact the College Board and request that their official test scores be sent electronically to the WPI Registrar’s Office. Upon receipt/verification of appropriate AP scores, corresponding credits will be posted to the student’s records. How much would I pay in tuition at WPI?
During the 2021-2022 academic year, any Becker-WPI Pathway Program student transferring to WPI will be charged the WPI Tuition & Fees; however, will not have a net tuition cost higher than they paid at Becker for the academic year 2020-2021.
What Scholarships and Financial Aid am I eligible for?
Financial aid is individual to each student. A Becker-WPI Pathway Program Grant will be awarded to cover the cost difference in tuition and honor merit and need-based institutional awards Becker-WPI Pathway Program students received at Becker in 2020-2021 (excluding loans). Individual net cost of attendance will vary from student to student based on need-based financial aid eligibility.
When applying for the Becker-WPI Pathway Program, Becker students will need to submit a 2021-2022 FAFSA and CSS Profile to be reviewed for need-based scholarships and financial aid. Both forms will require 2019 tax year information. We strongly encourage families to use the Data Retrieval Tool (DRT) in the FAFSA to assist in completing that form with accurate income information.

Is housing available for transferring students?
WPI cannot guarantee housing for every Becker student transferring to WPI but will endeavor to provide or help locate housing for fall 2021 for Becker undergraduates currently living in Becker campus housing.
Can I speak with an advisor?
Yes! Staff in the WPI Office of Academic Advising will serve as the primary contact for students in the Becker-WPI Pathway Program. Also, every Becker student who transfers to WPI will be assigned a faculty advisor.
