Curriculum
The LAE degree program complements the enterprise and creativity necessary to thrive in today’s multidisciplinary world. This unique program integrates a liberal arts degree with an engineering foundation. In addition to the nine core engineering courses in science and design, you will have the freedom to choose courses from other disciplines, such as medicine, law, public policy, international studies, business, or wherever a solid technical background would provide a competitive edge.
Your chosen courses are designed to impart a practical, broad experience in three domains: science and technology; management; and humanities and arts. With the flexibility to accommodate your individual interests, you can choose courses relevant to your pursuits.
Project-based Learning
Hands-on, project-based learning is the cornerstone of the WPI experience, and a big reason why you’ll stand out to employers. As a Liberal Arts & Engineering major, your options might include supporting faculty research, conducting projects off-campus in the U.S. or abroad, and finding your niche.
