Admissions Information
Admission to WPI’s Frontiers program is a rolling admission process. Rolling admissions is an application process where we review applications as we receive them rather than waiting until a set deadline to evaluate all applications at once. With this process courses will be filled as applicants are admitted so it’s best to not wait until the deadline to apply as space is limited in each program.
Application Process
- A completed application is required in order for it to be evaluated for admission.
- A completed application consists of the application, the two short response questions included in the application, a list of activities/hobbies/interests, and a copy of the transcript including current year grades.
- The short response questions for the 2025 application will be as follows:
- Question 1: Please share why you want to attend a WPI summer program.
- Question 2: Please answer one of the following three questions:
- Discuss an accomplishment, event, or realization that sparked a period of personal growth and new understanding of yourself or others.
- The lessons we take from obstacles we encounter can be fundamental to later success. Recount a time when you faced a challenge, setback, or failure. How did it affect you, and what did you learn from the experience?
- Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lost all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?
- The short response questions for the 2025 application will be as follows:
-
A letter of recommendation and test scores are not required for Frontiers application process.
Tuition Assistance
- The Tuition Assistance application is available as part of the application and will need to be completed when you apply for the program.
- Tuition Assistance is available to domestic applicants only. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer Tuition Assistance to international applicants.
- The maximum award covers up to 50% of the program cost. Typically, eligible families have a combined income below $120,000 a year.

We operate independently of WPI’s Office of Financial Aid. Please note that we cannot guarantee aid for all eligible applicants, so it's important to apply early..
