Keeping OS X Up-to-date
Apple frequently releases updates for Macintosh software. The Software Update feature in Mac OS X makes it very easy to determine and get exactly what you need.
Running Software Update
- Open the Apple menu, then select Software Update.
- Software Update will begin searching for updates automatically. Wait for it to finish generating a list of available updates.
- When it has finished, check the boxes next to any updates you wish to install, then click Install.
Note: Some updates need your local administrator password and/or require you to reboot your computer after installation.
Visit the Apple Support site for detailed instructions.
