L'Oreal USA Science Fellowship

The L’ORÉAL USA for Women in Science Fellowship programme will award five grants of $20,000 each to third and fourth year graduate students and postdoctoral researchers who are pursuing studies and research in the Natural Sciences (biological and physical), Engineering, Computer Science and Mathematics. A panel comprised of scientists, mathematicians and engineers, all members of the Association for Women in Science (AWIS) will review all applications. The top 20 candidates selected by this panel will then be forwarded for final selection to a distinguished jury of former L’ORÉAL-UNESCO for Women in Science North American Laureates (women in the life and material sciences), who will review and select five fellowship award recipients based on:
Intellectual merit/Academic records/accepted requisites for scholarly scientific study:
Ability to plan and conduct research
Ability to work as a team member or independently
Ability to interpret and communicate research findings
Scientific excellence and appropriateness of proposed research or a clearly articulated plan of study
Letters of competence are required from the advisers for postdoctoral researchers
Graduate students will require a letter of endorsement/support from their current adviser.
