How has project-based learning at WPI influenced your education? 

WPI is a place that really motivated me and trained me well to face real-world challenges and better my community. The project-based learning at WPI really stood out to me and prepared me well to go into real-world industries.   

What is your proudest accomplishment at WPI? 

I started my own project in the summer of 2021 called Sayansi Ambassadors, which was recently registered as a non-profit organization operating in my home country of Tanzania. The mission of Sayansi Ambassadors is to initiate hands-on learning experiences to primary school students, which will enable them to develop a deeper understanding of theoretical science concepts, arouse curiosity, and see how theoretical science knowledge can be applied to real world practices. My vision for Sayansi Ambassadors is to support the industrial revolution in Tanzania and reduce unemployment rates through fostering creativity, as well as inspiring and sparking the love for science subjects for the young generation in Tanzania.  

What are your plans after graduation? 

After graduation, I am working at AM Batteries as a development engineer at a Li-ion Battery Electrode Manufacturing Start-Up. AM Batteries was founded by WPI Mechanical and Materials Engineering Professor Yan Wang. It has always been my aspiration to work on technologies that are geared towards greener earth and sustainability — thinking locally and acting globally.
