Nafi (she/her) has been with the SDCC since January 2022. Nafi is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and received her Masters in Clinical Psychology from Assumption University. Prior to WPI, Nafi worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient mental health, domestic violence shelters, substance use residential treatment and outpatient Medication Assisted Treatment Programs. Her clinical approach is influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Integrative Therapy to provide flexibility in the counseling experience. Though experienced in helping students navigate a variety of challenges and life stressors, Nafi's particular areas of expertise and interest include depression, anxiety, time management, faith-based counseling, navigating peer and family relationships, boundary setting, communication skill building, Black students’ mental health, BIPOC students’ mental health, among other areas. Nafi is passionate about connecting with students and helping them gain skills to improve their mental health and overall well-being. Outside of the SDCC, Nafi recharges by spending time with her family, traveling and connecting with her community at church.
