Pronouns: she/her/hers. As an Academic Advisor in the Office of Academic Advising, I work with a caseload of undergraduate students to support them holistically through helping them understand their curricula, develop academic plans, connect to campus resources, reach their personal, professional, and academic goals, and serve as a general support system for them as they navigate life.
During my own undergraduate years, I was a part of a cohort-based academic support program, which is where I met my academic success coach. My success coach positively impacted my life so immensely, that I decided to pursue a career in higher education, so that I could help support students in the same way that my success coach supported me, both personally and academically. Before earning my master’s degree in higher education and working as an academic success coach, I also worked at a business intelligence company in the healthcare & technology sector, which is what led me to a more focused interest in working with students planning to study and work in the STEM field. My advising approach focuses strongly on growth mindset, strength-based learning, empathy, and validation. I am also extremely passionate about disability advocacy, mental health awareness/destigmatization, and racial equity- especially because these areas personally hold a special place in my heart.
Outside of work, I love music, taking long drives, spending time outside during golden hour, sunset chasing, grabbing coffee at local cafés and bookstores, watching my favorite shows on repeat, and relaxing with my rescue dog, Coda!
