David Minnie is the Clinical Laboratory Specialist for PracticePoint at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where he works with industry and academic collaborators (in addition to our governing committees and attending vet) to design study protocols that are clinically relevant in an aim to accelerate the development of new medical devices/materials/procedures; interpreting research objectives and advising on the most clinically appropriate in-vivo and ex-vivo studies that will achieve the best and most translatable data generation. Dave acts as the internal Study Director and provides surgical/lab support. He looks forward to engaging in areas of research that result in improved patient outcomes for a plethora of different pathologies and providing guidance to the next generation of investigators.
Previously, David worked as a Research and Animal Care Technician at CBSET. David brings with him a background in a fast-paced, GLP pre-clinical CRO, a specialty in the areas of endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic surgical platforms (especially in porcine models), and an emphasis on conscientious and predictive actions in anesthetic management of animal models. He loves problem solving and finds considering multiple approaches towards these puzzles and inventing on-the-fly (and outside-the-box) solutions to be very rewarding.
