Nima Kordzadeh is an Assistant Professor of Information Systems at the WPI Business School. He is also affiliated with the Data Science Program. Joining WPI in 2017, Professor Kordzadeh was drawn by the university's commitment to blending theory with practice, aligning perfectly with his educational philosophy. Teaching at WPI is particularly rewarding for him because it enables engagement with students poised to use technology to shape a better world. Professor Kordzadeh's research interests include the behavioral, organizational, and ethical aspects of the use of artificial intelligence (AI), data analytics, and social technologies. Specifically, his current work addresses critical challenges in the digital world, such as the biased outcomes of algorithmic systems, biases in online reviews, and the proliferation of misinformation on social media. Employing both quantitative and qualitative methods, his interdisciplinary scholarship aims to inform the development, implementation, and use of socially responsible, trustworthy, and advanced technologies. His research has been published in premier journals such as the Journal of the Association for Information Systems, European Journal of Information Systems, Decision Support Systems, and Information & Management.
Additionally, Professor Kordzadeh is actively engaged in service activities at WPI and in his professional community. His efforts at WPI ensure that the curriculum remains cutting-edge, reflecting the latest technological advancements and industry needs. As part of his contributions to his professional community, he serves as an associate editor for Internet Research and the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). He has also held leadership roles such as program chair, conference chair, and president at the Southern Association for Information Systems (SAIS), and is currently the vice president and program chair at the New England Chapter of AIS.
