He participated as attorney in several large multi-million dollar construction-related trials. His work also includes acting as lead counsel representing a construction manager in an arbitration with a subcontractor with parties asserting claims more than $1M taken to verdict. He has been counsel on numerous other construction and engineering claims and litigations representing all parties in the construction and design process.
His contract negotiation and drafting work included advice and consultation on numerous construction and design contracts including agreements with a value more than several hundred million dollars. He is experienced with standard form contract agreements including AIA, EJCDC, and Concensus Docs. He also prepared and updated a construction contract drafting Practice Advisor for LexisNexis.
His engineering experience includes working for a regional consulting engineering firm as a geotechnical engineer on numerous projects, including cut and cover tunnel projects, rock tunnel projects, braced excavations, and deep and shallow building foundations. He continues to maintain his professional engineer’s registration and to participate in ASCE activities. He has taught a graduate level course in construction law class to civil engineers and construction managers for more than 10 years.
