Proposal Process & Timeline
Prior to the submission of a proposal, below is a list of services the Foundation Relations team can provide. These services are tailored to align with the budget for your proposal.
Below $100,000:
- Abbreviated proposal review
- Liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs on budget and required authorized signatures (if applicable)
- Supply supporting documentation and institutional information
- Proposal submission (if required)
$100,000 - $499,000:
- Proposal review with commentary and non-technical edit suggestions
- Liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs on budget and required authorized signatures (if applicable)
- Supply supporting documentation and institutional information
- Proposal submission (if required)
$500,000 & Above:
- Support on strategy development
- Relationship building and oversight with funder
- Facilitate collaboration between internal and/or external multidisciplinary teams (if applicable)
- Assist in the writing process and/or intensive proposal review with commentary and non-technical edit suggestions
- Liaison with the Office of Sponsored Programs on budget and required authorized signatures (if applicable)
- Supply supporting documentation and institutional information
- Proposal submission (if required)
Additionally, we ask faculty and staff to comply to the timeline below to ensure you will receive the best level of service from the Foundation Relations team.
4-6 Weeks from Deadline (minimum): PI completes Notice of Intent to Apply Form
5 Business Days from Deadline: Finalize Budget & Justification, Subaward Documentation, Cost-Share Approvals, and Proposal Routing Form
3 Business Days from Deadline: Draft of Proposal Narrative and Accompanying Documents submitted to your Foundation Relations contact for review
2 Business Days from Deadline: Finalize Proposal, Institutional Approvals Requested
1 Business Day from Deadline: Proposal Submission
