Charles O. Thompson Scholars
Class of 2016
Each year, WPI recognizes first year students for excellence in their academic work with the designation Charles O. Thompson Scholars. These students are eligible to compete for a scholarship by submitting an essay that completes the picture of their contributions to the WPI community.
Samantha Neeno has been designated as the Outstanding Member of the Class of 2016. Samantha is from Alaska and is majoring in biomedical engineering. In her first year, in addition to an outstanding academic record, she has made significant contributions to the drama program, performing in Pirates of Penzance and Blithe Spirit and contributing to I Love You Because and New Voices in stage management. She is also involved in Alpha Phi Omega.
The review committee is also pleased to recognize four more first year students: Meghan Dawe, Charles Frick, Courtney Jones, and Torin Zonfrelli with Honorable Mention. All have excelled in course work and made significant contributions to WPI and the broader community.
