Catch the world-champion FIRST robotics team of the Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) on WTAG-AM 580 from 7:30 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 20.
Team member Daniel Pretorius and Adjunct Assistant Professor Kenneth Stafford, who serves as director of WPI's robotics resource center and FIRST team advisor, will join host Jim Hannon on "Worcester: Academically Speaking." In the interview, Pretorius and Stafford will explain how students designed and built their victorious robot, "Goatdactyl," and will also expound upon the many contemporary uses of robotics as well as their nearly unlimited future applications. They will also describe the upcoming robotics competition in Worcester: Battle Cry @ WPI, which will be held on June 15 and 16.
