As part of this summer’s project to renovate the Quadrangle, and as a follow up to previous notifications, reconstruction of the Quad will begin in full force on Monday, June 10, so that construction crews can have it substantially complete for the arrival of freshman in August and the start of A-Term. During this phase of the project, access around most of the Quad will remain open; however, access to or through the center of the Quad will be restricted.
Access from the main campus to the Sports & Recreation Center will be maintained in front of Harrington, similar to the common route used now. The contractors will be completing some work in that area next week so the path may change a bit from day to day but signs will be posted to indicate where pedestrian access will be maintained to the Rec Center. The intention is to have a fixed temporary walkway to the Rec Center by the middle of the week of June 17.
Also, by early next week, the Daniels Hall main entrance that faces the Quad will be accessible via a temporary walkway that will be installed from the service road next to Riley Hall up to the Daniels Hall main entrance.
Work continues on the new Wedge Terrace. During this time period, access to the inner Wedge area and Morgan Dining Commons will be possible thru Daniels Hall as noted above, and from all of the access doors on Institute Road.
The access ways provided will be safe, but please be attentive to the work around you and exercise caution.
