From sporting events and awards ceremonies to Q&As with new members of the campus community and a special turkey cameo, this month at WPI had it all. Bundle up and take a look at what WPI students, faculty, and staff were up to once they returned to campus in January.
This year’s recipients of the 2023 President’s IQP Award, (L–R) Alexandria Sheehan, Sara Frunzi, and Samuel Darer traveled to the Albania Project Center and focused their project work on understanding how fracking to extract oil in a village in Albania affects the women who live there.
After serving as the University of Cincinnati’s mental health program manager, Gina Heinsohn recently joined the WPI community as assistant director of the Center for Well-Being. Bwann Gwann, WPI’s director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging, sat down for a recent Q&A to discuss what diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging mean to her, what excites her about her new role, and how she plans to work toward an inclusive culture at WPI.
This year’s WinterSession gave WPI students, alumni, faculty, and staff the chance to participate in classes, workshops, and sessions on everything from sushi making and ballroom dancing to digital brand creation and becoming a changemaker.

There were smiles all around as our India team presented students with their admissions letters, along with guidance on making the move to the U.S., during a recent event. We look forward to seeing them on campus this fall!
