Shahin Tajik
Expert Bio

Professor Shahin Tajik studies aspects of hardware security. He seeks to develop technologies to monitor and protect computer chips and other hardware from malicious attacks such as physical tampering of semiconductors, motherboards, and electronic components. Such attacks could result in spying or disrupting functionality. Tajik’s research has a specific emphasis on the analysis of non-invasive and semi-invasive side channels, physically unclonable functions (PUFs), machine learning, field-programmable gate array security (FPGA), and the design of anti-tamper mechanisms against physical attacks. His research into the use of lasers for side-channel attacks on electronic systems and laser-assisted countermeasures contributed to his receipt of a CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation.
