Interactive Media and Game Development Professor Explains Mystery House Games

Melissa Kagen, assistant professor of teaching in the Department of Interactive Media and Game Development was quoted in a New York Times review of the new video game "Blue Prince."

As the author of the book "Wandering Games," Kagen shared her insight into the aspects of mystery house games like "Blue Prince" that captivate players. 

 

Entrepreneur and Innovation Exchange (EIX)

Ahmet Can Sabuncu, assistant teaching professor, Mechanical Engineering; and students Jonathan Han and Natalia Han were featured in this article. This discusses Toys with Wings, an emerging learning and teaching experience in a junior-level Mechanical Engineering course at WPI where students develop an entrepreneurial mindset by using the Vygotsky Cycle – a learning theory that uses social interaction to strengthen comprehension -- to complement the engineering design process.

Diversity in Action

WPI’s ongoing efforts to prepare students for an increasingly diverse workforce were highlighted in this Diversity in Action article. “Researchers will teach WPI students how to identify and address bias and work in groups in ways that promote equity,” the article stated.
