Wellness Day - November 6, 2023
12:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Wellness Days are built into the 2023-2024 graduate and undergraduate academic calendar as days to reflect, relax, reconnect, and reenergize as individuals and as a campus community. These are days for our community to focus on supporting and caring for our students as well as each other.
There will be no classes, no assignment due dates, no non-critical lab work, and no meetings held on these days. Wellness Days will feature a variety of ways to de-stress, center, and connect with yourself and those around you throughout the day.
Theme: Celebrate Diversity
The CWB is responsible for coordinating the programming for the Wellness Days with student groups and departments. If you are interested in sponsoring or co-sponsoring an activity or event, please fill out the Wellness Day Event Request Form.

She will discuss how systemic barriers contribute to cultural and workforce generational differences in accessing and utilizing mental health benefits, as well as how the emotional tax of racial trauma leads to poorer career, financial, social, and mental health outcomes for employees of color. This interactive keynote will provide tools to help attendees increase their understanding of racial stress and trauma, practice mindfulness strategies for releasing toxic emotions, and identify ways that allies can advocate for emotionally healthy workspaces. Locations: Daniels HallSign up for a 15-minute Reiki session with certified Reiki master, Catherine Flayhan. You will experience healing in your whole-body by the gentle placement of the practitioner’s hands above or lightly on the receiver's body. Reiki is a healing practice that helps to bring your energetic body into alignment. Humans have two body forms. One is our physical body supported by our spine, bones, organs. We also have an energetic body with a central column that runs along our spine called a Sushumna. This is where the seven main Chakras live as well as the Nadis, which are channels that bring energy out to the rest of our body. Both can become out of alignment. When your energetic body is unaligned you visit a Reiki Practitioner. Sponsored by Center for Well-Being.
