Just-in-Time Training for Faculty Academic Advising
12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
Getting ready for Academic Advising Day? Not sure about undergraduate degree requirements? Need a refresher? This training is for all early career faculty and faculty at WPI looking for a refresher on the campus-wide requirements for undergraduate students. We will introduce general academic advising at WPI and discuss the campus-wide requirements including social science, humanities and arts, IQP, MQP, and Wellness/PE. Some tips and tricks will be provided for using Workday to simplify some aspects of academic advising. Time permitting, experienced faculty advisors will describe how they manage academic advising meetings and introduce typical conversation they may have about requirements, student life at WPI, and career planning. Attend for all or part of the event. Lunch will be provided for those who register in advance. Ample time will be allotted for Q&A and group discussion.
Hosts: Committee on Advising and Student Life (CASL), Morgan Teaching and Learning Center, and Office of Academic Advising (OAA)
