Jim Valis '00, financial advisor at Blackstone Valley Wealth Management, will hold a workshop tomorrow (Oct. 5, 1–2 p.m., Atwater Kent 116) on building credit. Learn about good habits, good versus bad debt, how much debt is too much, managing and minimizing debt, and some budgeting basics.

After earning his BS in business management and an MBA from Bryant University. Valis pursued a career as certified financial planner by joining Fidelity Investments, quickly rising to vice president of its Private Client Group, Fidelity’s high net worth clientele. Five years later he co-founded Blackstone Valley Wealth Management in Hopkinton, an independent financial planning and investment advisory firm.
Valis is a recipient of the Worcester Business Journal 40 Under Forty Award, a recognition of young business leaders making an impact in the community through business, volunteering, and philanthropy.
Lunch will be provided at the workshop, and there will be a raffle for prizes.
