ANDREW AND JACK BAUER – SWIMMING AND DIVING
Andrew Bauer and Jack Bauer from the swimming and diving team have been named as the WPI Male Student-Athletes of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 10. The Bauer brothers, of Cumberland, RI., combined to win four individual events on Saturday as the host Engineers knocked off Roger Williams and Bridgewater State. Andrew, a junior, swept the 50- and 100-yard freestyle with a 22.00 and 48.96 while Jack, a freshman, notched the best time in the 100-yard backstroke (52.53 ) and the 200-yard individual medley (2:00.36).
EVA CHILDERS – SWIMMING AND DIVING
Eva Childers of the swimming and diving team was named WPI Female Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sunday, Jan. 10. Childers, of Henniker, N.H., captured the 200-yard freestyle (1:59.97) and 100-yard butterfly (1:01.17) as WPI swept a double dual Saturday with visiting Roger Williams and Bridgewater State. The junior was also second in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.55) and was part of the first place 200-yard freestyle relay, which set the pool record with a time of 1:42.04.
