George C. Gordon Library
Class of ’41 Gallery, 3rd Floor
Celebrating her retirement after 39 years at Gordon Library, Lora Brueck presents a retrospective show of 29 years of photography and mixed media art. During her career at WPI, Lora has curated exhibitions in the library’s galleries and other display areas, as well as showing her own art on several occasions. This exhibition is a survey of her photography which she began in 1984 at the Worcester Center for Crafts. Photographic series that followed include use of infrared film, hand-colored black and white images, and images made with plastic cameras. Subjects include carnival rides, Higgins House, rare books from Gordon Library’s Special Collections, images of Ireland, and trees. More recent mixed-media work includes collage and artists’ books.
A reception will be held July 30, 3-5 p.m.
