WPI’s HERB-Lab Postdoctoral Fellow, Dr. Yalin Lu, receives “Excellence Award” in 2023 postdoc video challenge

Dr. Yalin Lu, a Postdoctoral Fellow at the HERB-Lab (the Laboratory for Healthy, Environmental, and Resilient Buildings), was awarded second place in the 2023 Postdoc Video Challenge, hosted by the prestigious journal Buildings & Cities, asking postdocs to explain the significance of their research in short videos. Dr. Lu’s winning video, "Designing a Healthcare Built Environment that Cares for All Children", conveys the need to improve sleep environments for vulnerable populations, particularly at the nexus of environmental equity, sleep health, and climate change-induced extreme temperatures and wildfire smoke. At the HERB-Lab (PI: Prof Nancy Ma), Dr. Lu leads projects related to improving sleep environments for vulnerable populations using polysomnography and simulation-aided modeling for healthy buildings.
