WPI Police
The WPI Police Dept. will change the way parking is managed on campus, making the process more automated, streamlined, and easier for employees.
In 2018, the University will switch from the current paper-based system to the T2 UNIFI Parking Management Platform, a more efficient and customer-focused service that allows online registration, renewals, and updates. This also means less plastic: you will keep your hanging tag and update it every year with a simple sticker.
Because the new system will not be fully implemented until December, we are bypassing the annual registration renewal event usually held in August. Unless you are a new employee or have changed your vehicle or address, you do not need to come to an onsite registration renewal event. Instead, all current permits will be automatically extended until August 2018. You do not need to take any action at this time.
New employees, or those who have changed vehicles or addresses and require new permits, can visit Campus Police, lower level of Founders Hall anytime between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Please have available your license plate number, year, make, model, and color of your vehicle, and your WPI ID. You can download and complete the online parking application in advance: http://www.wpi.edu/Images/CMS/Police/NewFillableParkingPermitApp.pdf. Please note that updated parking registration can be issued only to employees who do not have outstanding parking fines. Reminders are presently going out to those employees with any outstanding fines.
More details about the new system will be provided in the coming months, and again, as we prepare to roll it out campus wide in August 2018.
Meanwhile, please contact WPI Police at x 5433 if you have questions or need assistance with your current parking permit.
Thank you,
WPI Police
