WPI Access Suspended to NewsBank and Reaxys Databases

Access to two research databases provided by Gordon Library will no longer be available this fiscal year: NewsBank (Access World News) and Reaxys.

To meet many of the functions of these two databases, our librarians are pleased to offer guidance on alternatives:

1. As an alternative to NewsBank, we offer continued access to Nexis Uni (formerly LexisNexis Academic) which provides access to more than 17,000 international news, business and legal sources from LexisNexis. News coverage in Nexis Uni includes:

• print and online journals, television and radio broadcasts, newswires and blogs;
• local, regional, national and international newspapers with deep archives.

For Worcester residents, electronic access to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette is available through the Worcester Public Library.  (Register online for an eCard for access to the available electronic resources.)

2. As an alternative to Reaxys, we offer continued access to SciFinder Scholar to search for chemical reactions, (parts of) chemical structures and substance properties.  For more information on available chemistry databases, see our online guides, including https://libguides.wpi.edu/databases/bysubject/chemistry_biochemistry
