Transitions in University Advancement
Department(s):
AlumniI am writing to share that Donna Stock, Vice President of University Advancement, will step down from her role for personal reasons, effective December 31. Donna will serve until mid-February as Special Advisor to me and as a support to Associate Vice President Monica Ellis, who has agreed to serve as Interim Vice President of University Advancement.
Donna joined WPI in 2006 and has been instrumental to the three most successful fundraising campaigns in our history, raising millions of dollars for a range of initiatives, including new and renovated buildings, faculty and student support, and research.
Most recently, Donna has led University Advancement toward our goal for the Beyond These Towers campaign. This campaign has secured endowed scholarships, professorships, and program and research support, as well as funding for the Innovation Studio, Unity Hall, and renovations to many other campus spaces.
Donna was integral in the founding of WPI’s Women’s Impact Network, and she has been deeply involved in the greater Worcester community. She is also the proud parent of a 2011 WPI graduate.
Please join me in thanking Donna for her service and contributions to WPI and wishing her all the best. On a personal note, I’ve enjoyed working closely with Donna and value her advice and insights.
Monica Ellis, who joined WPI in 2013 and currently serves as Associate Vice President for Leadership Giving & Donor Relations, will begin her interim position on January 2. Monica brings 30 years of advancement experience to her new role from such institutions as MIT and Boston Children's Hospital. Many of you may already know Monica from her work at WPI in annual giving, alumni relations, and major giving. Her background in alumni relations, combined with her emphasis on data analytics, places a premium on both relationships and data-driven decisions. I know you will continue to support Monica and the UA team.
WPI expects to launch a national search for a successor Vice President of University Advancement in the new year.
Sincerely,
President Grace Wang
