School of Arts & SciencesTom Robertson, Associate Professor of Humanities & Arts, has received a 2016-2017 Science and Technology Policy Fellowship from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).
Dr. Robertson’s fellowship will be within the Diplomacy, Security & Development (DSD) program area and will be served at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) in Washington, DC. Dr. Robertson will work as an Environmental and Social Policy Advisor for USAID, providing leadership and implementing policy on a range of emerging environmental and social issues such as climate change, environmental impact assessment, ecosystem services, and wildlife trafficking. In particular, he will work closely with USAID’s Indigenous Peoples Advisor, supporting the integration of indigenous peoples safeguards into USAID's environmental and social policies.
