Seeking Staff Volunteers for In-Person Commencement Ceremonies
Department(s):
CommencementWPI Employees,
We need your support and are seeking staff volunteers for our in-person Commencement ceremonies in May! The ceremonies are spread out across three days to meet MA guidelines for outdoor gatherings with time for cleaning and clearing the campus in between ceremonies. WPI will require everyone on campus to follow mask wearing and social distancing guidelines.
Volunteering for Commencement this year will be both easy and convenient since the ceremonies will take place during the normal workday. You will find the days/times of each ceremony and the corresponding staff volunteer commitment times listed below.

Staff volunteers will be assigned to various areas on campus such as, lining up graduates and student check in, processional/recessional route monitors, Quad seating for guests, parking assistants, and access point check in areas. Once you sign up, you will be assigned to one of these roles and connected with a team leader who will be your contact and will provide instructions for your specific assignment.
All staff volunteers must be in the COVID-19 testing protocol. For staff who have been working from home and want to come back to volunteer, you will be required to onboard and get tested the week of May 9 by receiving two negative test results within a week. You would then test once the week of May 16, even if you have received a COVID-19 vaccination. If this applies to you, please email Jennifer Russell at jrussell2@wpi.edu to begin your onboarding process. For more details review testing details for D-term and new hours for testing.
Please consider helping us make Commencement run smoothly in this challenging year and special memory for our graduates by volunteering for one or more Commencement ceremonies. Click to sign up now as a staff volunteer! Contact: kwykes@wpi.edu.
