Seeking Community Input in Preparation of Launching Provost Search
Department(s):
Division of Talent & InclusionPlanning has begun for our national search for a new provost.
As an early step in community engagement, and in accordance with the Faculty Handbook, President Grace Wang and Professor George Heineman, Chair of the Faculty Committee on Governance, are collaborating with faculty governance leaders to form the Search Committee. Once convened, the Search Committee will communicate regularly with the WPI community.
To attract the strongest possible candidates, the Provost Position profile must clearly articulate WPI’s distinctions, our commitment to academic excellence, key opportunities to advance the university's academic enterprise, as well as major leadership attributes, experience and skills the new Provost needs to possess. We seek input from the campus community to help inform and formulate the Provost Position profile.
In coming weeks, SVP for Talent & Inclusion/CDO Lauren Turner will work with faculty governance, staff council, students and other stakeholders to identify a cross section of community members including faculty, staff, students, division and department heads, deans, and alumni and will facilitate listening sessions.
Members of the community may also provide feedback using this survey. The survey closes on November 1, 2023.
