Planned Campus-wide Power Shutdown July 17, 2021

WPI is nearing completion of an ongoing project to replace and upgrade the Main Campus Electrical Service, in partnership with National Grid.

For the final phase of the project, a full-day campus power shutdown will take place on Saturday, July 17, 2021.  The electrical shutdown will begin at 7:00 am, with power projected to be restored by 5:00 pm. The shutdown will impact all WPI campus buildings inside of Salisbury Street, Boynton Street, Institute Road, & Park Avenue, with the exception of the Sports & Recreation Center and the Park Avenue garage. 

Affected buildings are:

  • Bartlett Center
  • Boynton Hall
  • Innovation Center
  • Fuller Labs
  • Goddard Hall
  • Gordon Library
  • Harrington Auditorium
  • Higgins House
  • Higgins Labs
  • Kaven Hall
  • Olin Hall
  • Power House
  • Project Center
  • Rubin Campus Center
  • Salisbury Labs
  • Skull Tomb
  • Stratton Hall
  • Washburn Shops

Residential buildings impacted are Daniels Hall, Messenger Hall, Morgan Hall, and Sanford Riley Hall.
