Open Enrollment - Helpful Hints & Save the Dates

We are quickly approaching the launch of Open Enrollment for 2024 Benefit Plans. The information below captures important dates and helpful hints to support employees during this process.  As a reminder, the Open Enrollment election window will run from October 31st to November 15th.

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care 

Mapping health insurance benefit plans – Employees who participate in WPI health insurance MUST enroll in the plan of their choice during Open Enrollment for 2024. Existing plans will not rollover to the new plan year. Failure to enroll will default to a waiver of health insurance for 2024. The following information reflects the mapping of Tufts plans to the new Harvard Pilgrim Health Care plans for 2024.

• OLD - Tufts Health Plan HSA HMO = NEW HPHC Best Buy HSA HMO Massachusetts 
• OLD - Tufts Health Plan HMO 20B = NEW HPHC HMO Massachusetts 
• OLD - Tufts Health Plan PPO $1,000 Deductible = NEW HPHC PPO Access America 

Verifying Existing Providers or Searching for New Doctors

Harvard Pilgrim Health Care (HPHC) provides a web-based search tool for current and prospective members to search for providers in the networks offered throughout HPHC. Employees seeking to verify existing providers and for those looking to search for new providers, visit the HPHC website and reference the following instructions:  

To find Harvard Pilgrim participating providers:

• Visit Harvard Pilgrim Health Care
• Click “Find a Provider.”
• Search under “Without logging in” and “Select a plan.” Choose a plan on the page. (See below for what network to search based on your elected health insurance plan).  Within each plan directory, you can search by provider type (primary care providers, specialists, behavioral health providers, hospitals, and other care providers) or by specialty.

Drop-In Q & A and Enrollment Sessions

During the Open Enrollment period, the Benefits Team will be available for employees to drop-in for support and assistance with entering 2024 elections in Workday and to get benefit plan questions answered.  Below is a listing of sessions offered to employees over the course of the Open Enrollment election period. As a reminder, employees who participate in WPI health insurance, HSA and FSA plans MUST make an enrollment election in Workday before the end of the day on November 15th.

• Tuesday, October 31st – Salisbury Labs 123 – 2pm-3:30pm
• Thursday, November 9th – Salisbury Labs 123 – 3:30pm – 5pm
• Monday, November 13th – Higgins Lab 230 – 11:30am – 1:30pm
• Tuesday, November 14th – Salisbury Labs 123 – 2:30pm – 4:30pm

Benefits Fair – November 2nd 11am-2pm, Odeum A&B

In addition to our benefit vendor and WPI representatives, employees will have the opportunity to participate in onsite chair massage and eye examination appointments.  If you are interested and haven’t already done so, please reserve your appointment for these offerings.

Chair Massage – Appointments are filling up quickly.  For employees still interested in signing up for a chair massage, you must schedule an appointment in advance.  

20/20 Onsite - Vision Exams will be available onsite for employees who schedule an appointment in advance.  Take advantage of the convenience of checking your annual vision exam off the list before the end of the year.
