Nominations for Staff Council Begins

Dear Colleagues,
Staff Council is initiating the process to nominate nine (9) new members to the Staff Council. Please read more about the Staff Council purpose, election process, and eligibility here.
Eligibility criteria for the Staff Council:
Any permanent staff employee (except union members, and members of the President's Management Council/Cabinet) are eligible for nomination and to participate in voting.
Call for Nominations:
If you are interested in nominating yourself or another staff member, please fill out the following nomination form no later than April 18th. All nominees will receive outreach to let them know they have been nominated and to ask for their confirmation/interest in being on the ballot. In efforts to broaden the representation of employees across the divisions, nominees will be grouped into categories. Please take a moment to review more information about the Staff Council, the election process and procedures, constitution and bylaws as well as frequently asked questions on the Staff Council webpage.
Please mark your calendar for the upcoming All-Staff Meeting and Year-End Celebration Event scheduled on the afternoon of May 20th between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. You will have an opportunity to meet with the nominees at a meet and greet session and council members will be available to answer any specific questions on the process. As the election process progresses, watch for future communication with additional information and updates.

Reminder of Important Dates:
April 7th – April 18th:
Opening of peer and self-nominations submissions.
APRIL 25th:
FAQs Zoom for Nominees
May 20th:
Meet & Greet with Nominees at the Spring 2025 Staff Forum | 2:30 p.m.-4:00 p.m. | Campus Center Odeum
May 19th – May 30th:
Voting/elections will take place.
June 6th-12th:
All nominees will be notified of the results. Staff Council identifies the two appointees.
July 1st:
University-wide announcement of newly elected and appointed members.
Early August:
The newly elected Staff Council members will begin their term in August for a term length of two years.
